About ADM Architecture:
Founded in 2026 by Alex Frye, ADM Architecture is rooted in decades of architectural experience in St Maarten. The practice was created to offer a more personal approach to design—one that balances creativity, detail, and strong project management while responding to the realities of Caribbean climate and landscape.
Our philosophy: We believe good design should support the way people live, work, and connect. Every project is shaped by careful listening, clear thinking, and a respect for place. The result is architecture that feels both refined and practical, with long-term comfort and resilience built in from the start.
Our values: ADM stands for Art, Detail, and Management. These values guide every stage of the work, from first ideas through coordination and delivery. They are supported by stewardship, professionalism, resilience, and a commitment to timeless design.
What Makes us Different:
Designing for climate: Every project begins with a close reading of place—sun, wind, shade, drainage, water, and materials. These conditions shape our decisions from the start, helping us create spaces that feel comfortable, work naturally with their environment, and remain resilient over time.
Designing for life: We design around the way people live, work, gather, and grow. That means creating spaces that are practical, adaptable, and meaningful—whether for everyday family life, changing business needs, or long-term flexibility over time.
Respecting the site: We aim to work with the land rather than against it, preserving what is valuable and responding carefully to each property’s opportunities and constraints. From landscape character to stormwater and grading, we look for thoughtful solutions that support both the site and the architecture.
Designing the surroundings: We see the landscape around a building as an essential part of the design, not an afterthought. Planting, shade, outdoor spaces, and the relationship between building and site all shape how a place feels and performs. Wherever possible, we use native and climate-appropriate plants that support the local environment, require less maintenance, and strengthen the connection between the architecture and its Caribbean setting.
Working with heritage: When a project includes existing buildings with historic or architectural significance, we approach them with care, respect, and curiosity. We look for what gives a place its identity, preserve the character that matters most, and adapt it thoughtfully for contemporary use while honoring its history.
